National PanKayKay Week

PanKayKay? Yeah you know? Pancakes. PanKayKay? … Nevermind.

PanKayKayNubSauz used to be my old AIM screen name because I LOVE PANCAKES >_> And National Pancake week just ended, so this post is dedicated to the pancakes I made this week~.Usually I don’t eat pancakes that often; it’s usually only when I go to a diner where it’s almost a must to get breakfast for dinner.

When I make pancakes, I usually use a mix of some sort, my favorite is Morinaga brand pancake mix. You just add an egg and 3/4 milk or water and its the lightest, most fluffy pancake I’ve ever eaten 8) Even better than a restaurant or pancake house! When you cook it, you get a nice even brown carmel color over the pancake (or at least on one side lol) and it ACTUALLY looks like the picture! You don’t get those matchy bubbles from other mixes or from making it by scratch, but I do from time to time make it by scratch if I don’t want a lot of pancakes.

Here are the pictures of pancakes I’ve made:

Day 1: Plain pancakes with butter and maple syrup with bacon and orange juice. These were made from the Morinaga brand and as you can see from the top pancake, the even coloring. You get bubbles on one side unfortunately because when you pour the batter into the pan, you only get the even coloring on the side  cooking from underneath :/ and the bubble-matchyness is a result from flipping it when bubbles appear.

Day 2: Pancakes with homemade whipped cream and berries and coffee<3. My boyfriend thinks the two raspberries and the big strawberry in the middle look like a big happy face T_T.

Day 3: Chocolate, chocolate chip pancakes with homemade whipped cream.Yummy :) like the kind they have at IHOP.

Day 4: Pikachu pancake. This was inspired by a Mudkip pancake I made last year. I used chocolate chips for the ears, nose, and eyes and rasperries for the cheeks and mouth.

Day 5: Pumpkin pie pancake. Pumpkin pancakes drizzled with honey, homemade whipped cream and cinnamon. I made a pumpkin pancake and put spices that usually go in pumpkin pie (powdered ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, etc.) and it tasted exactly like a pumpkin pie! Just more fluffy and cakey 8).

Last but not least,Tiramisupancake. I made a pancake with a little bit more sugar and added vanilla extract. Then I layered it with a cream cheese filling I made from cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then dusted the top with cocoa powder and put a little dallop of whipped cream. The taste was good, but texture wasn’t like tiramisu XD; Also the flavor was a little different since I didn’t have mascarpone and used cream cheese :/.

That concludes my pancake week~ I have some idea for more pancakes too… Maybe I’ll continue making some 8)

Ever wonder how mochi is made?

Well, today at the Japanese school I volunteer at we let the kids make mochi for a Mochitsuki event, which I’m sure most of you know as the sweet Japanese rice cake.

Basically you soak sweet Japanese rice over night in water, then with the cooked rice you put it through an extruder type of machine, pound it, and you pound it in a big mortar with wooden mallets, and repeat. It’s a little bit more complex, but I really don’t know the entire process XD;

Mochitsuki (餅つき) a type of mochi pounding ceremony usually for Japanese new years. Although all this time I thought it was Mochi-Tsuki (餅 月), which means moon mochi (or literally mochi moon) because growing up I learned there was a bunny on the moon who always pounded mochi at night in the moonlight.

I took this picture from Google and I just doodled on it some more. As you can see on in the picture on the very right this is what I’m talking about so you dno’t think I’m completely crazy. I think it’s like, moonception because there’s a moon inside the moon :O.

Anyways. After all of this I bought some stuff from Bed Bath & Beyond with some store credit I had, and since I didn’t find anything nice for my room or bathroom, I just bought some products I’ll review later. All of this was $35, but I only paid $3 8). Also I got 50% off on the Sketchers Tone-Ups. They’re actually really comfortable and cushiony! I’ll do a seperate review later, but I just wanted to upload the picture since Kona decided to sit next to it all.

Two-pack of head towels, Biore cleanser I use everyday, Clean&Clear Morning Burst moisturizer (I’ve been looking for this for YEARS), Palmer’s Skin Therapy Firming lotion (more on this later), Aquaphor cream (again more on this later), and my Tone-Ups (I resorted to this color because I COULD NOT FIND ONE SINGLE SIZE 6 THAT HAD BOTH SHOES IN THE BOX -_-).

I used this “Purikura Photoshop Kit” from Deviant Art.

It’s a really funny story actually. I actually know her in person. Like, I’ve known her for about 4 years. Don’t believe me? Here’s a picture of us from like that long ago ._. It’s at my house for my friend’s birthday and I made him some cupcakes with Ragnarok Online emoticons (this is when everyone in this picture played the same server).

Sewing project to come… eventually.

So I went to JoAnnes today to get two items, and of course, you know what happens when you go somewhere with that mindset. You don’t even buy what you bought and end up with about a million other things >_<.

Well, I went to get a brush to sweep off my eraser shavings for my art class because the oil from my hands and the pencil lead dust smear, and this is what I ended up getting…

Some uber cute cotton fabric, a half-waist apron*,  a 1M star tip, and my very own glue gun :D . I’ve been using a hand-me-down glue gun from my mom and it’s all sticky and gross because it’s really old, plus I like the smaller one better (that’s what she said).

*So at least I bought ONE of the two things I wanted to get… I wanted a full apron, but they were out. Anyways, I have two art classes this semester and currently we’re working with a lot of clay and of course I’m always wearing black, so the apron will help :) .

Sewing project to come?

Well, I originally was going to make the whole apron, but now I’m planning on having TWO aprons; one for clay, one for cooking or whatever. Probably within the next few days to a week maybe >_<

The first apron will be my half-waist apron, and I’m going to either sew (or glue lolol) on some of my polka dotted fabric onto it. I don’t want to use too much of the fabric, because chances are it’ll get ruined from the clay anyway.

The second apron, I’ll probably actually have to make all of it lol. I need similar black fabric to the half apron, and I’m going to make a regular apron with the polka dotted fabric as pockets and maybe add some ruffle lace, I dunno yet I’ll post pictures.

By the ways, here’s a picture of how I customized my huge tote I use for carrying around my huge sketch pad, newspaper pad, and drawing board :D they’re bad pictures I know ;_;.

I’m too short to carry the tote by the handles, so I have to carry it messenger bag style. So I decided, why not make use of the free space?

Cute cooking :)

Beauty is everywhere <3

I really like cooking. I guess. I don’t live eat, but when I do eat to live, I enjoy it lol.

Recently I made a Valentines Day bento for my boyfriend then again the next day. It started with just chocolate, but it turned into a full blown lunch >_>. I made a hard boiled egg heart, but it got squished by the lid ;_;. I got it to turn pink by soaking it in warm water with a little red food coloring for about 2 minutes before I put it in the mold. I made him a spam sandwich (I couldn’t find anything else to make a sandwich out of DX), carrot and potato with parsley, the squished egg, and for dessert some strawberries and heart shaped chocolate that I made.

Here was my bento; just some Karaage chicken (frozen though), potato and carrots with parsley, and a musubi with salmon flavored furikake (I couldn’t find sakuradenbu >_<) and a strawberry with one of the white chocolate hearts I made :) .

And there’s my latest bento I made, beef and mushroom omurice, shelled edamame, and some gyoza. I FORGOT TO PACK SHOYU (soy sauce) AND KETCHUP T_T grumble, grumble. But at least I had a cute fork :D it’s from a fork & spoon set with a case I got from work..

Circle Lenses~

Well. Now that I don’t have class on Friday this semester I have no excuse to not make an entry at least once a week.

My month long Bath&Body and FatGirlSlim test thingie worked out pretty well and I’ve shed a few inches (I think XD).

So, I’ve decided to make this about circle lenses I’ve tried and worn, as you may have noticed from the title. I’m near sighted so sometimes I switch from circle lenses to regular contact lenses. I PROPERLY KNOW HOW TO CLEAN AND WEAR LENSES AND I DO NOT WEAR THEM FOR EXTENDED PERIODS. If anything I’M the one who yells at people for just popping dirty contacts in their eyes. I soak my lenses before wearing them for at least 4+ hours (preferably overnight) and I clean them with my saline contact solution before each wear.

People have asked me if I’m wearing color lenses when I’m not, and think my eyes are natural when I wear circles lol :P Here are my eyes normally:

Though these next ones aren’t circle lenses, these were my first color contact lenses, FreshLook in blue. They are a dark blue unless you are in the light or use flash. The top picture looks a little greenish, but they never look green in person.

My next lenses were FreshLook in Gray. These were my favorite before I wore actual circle lenses. They are a pure gray color, and in the middle is a little brown two-tone so it looks natural if you naturally have brown eyes.

Finally of the FreshLook colors, I wore violet. It’s a little disappointing because it only shows up purple in flash photos and gray in regular lighting :/. These also have brown in the middle, and actually do look pretty natural.

The first time I ordered circle lenses was from S2Janine’s Pretty&Cute (before she stopped selling them) and I ordered GEO Angel Violet, GEO Angel Brown and GEO Nudy Gray.  Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of my Angel Violets :( . They were nice though lol. I spelled gray wrong in the picture, I’m sorry >_<

My last batch of circle lenses from Pretty&Cute right when they stopped were GEO Nudy Brown and GEO Honey Wing. Both of these were the closest lenses to my actually eye color, and a lot of people have mistaken them for my real eyes. Honey wing is similar to Angel Brown, but Honey Wings have no black in them. My all time lenses of choice though are Nudy Browns.

My next batch I only was able to get two orders from Tokio Shine, then they had a site reconstruction and then never opened again. The first time I ordered Candy Doll Browns which are like really big Angel Browns, but I love these a lot, it’s just the diameter was too big to wear all the time.

My second order from Tokio Shine was Dolly Eye violets, which I mistook for being the Candy Doll brand like my previous order… They are similar to Angel Violet, but the purple color is very vibrant and noticeable, unfortunately I could only wear them once because they dried out my eyes. You can even tell from my eye they are uncomfortable.

After Tokio Shine closed, I started to get my lenses from Honey Color they are the best! I’ve ordered from them several times. I have ordered multiple pairs of Nudy Browns, and I’ve gotten GEO Nudy Blue (not honey blue), GEO Angel Green, EOS Adult (old) Green, and EOS Adult (old) Violet.

EOS Adult Violet, It’s comfortable, I just wish it was more enlarging to my eye. They are very nice color wise too, and I used them for a Hiiragi Tsukaka cosplay (but I mistook the color and it wasn’t what I expected >_<). The picture below is not from the cosplay lol.

GEO Nudy Blue. I thought these would be similar in color to EOS Adult Green or Blue, but they are dark unless you are able to get a halo effect. The color in natural or not very bright lighting is very similar to Freshlook Blue. I like these, but I probably wouldn’t get them again because they show up so dark. I used these for a Tim Burton’s Alice and Wonderland Cheshire Cat Halloween costume (Halloween is my birthday!).

GEO Angel Green is similar to Angel Brown and they look kind of a grayish brown in some lighting, but a nice dark green in the right light. I wore these to prom (the below picture has no makeup though) and they matched my dress perfectly :) .

My latest pair of lenses are EOS Adult (old) Green were for my upcoming Megurine Luka cosplay and they are just the right shade! Although they say green, it is a sky blue with just a hint of green (I did my research this time lol) and I’m glad I didn’t get blue because that probably would’ve been too gray. These are show up very, very, very nice, even in dark lighting or at night. My only flaw is that I wish they were enlarging (but it’s EOS Adult series, so what am I going to do lol), but other than that I love these.

This is probably going to be the longest post I’ll ever written >_< I promise not to add so many pictures in the future lol.

=__=

I haven’t written a blog in a long time because I’ve been so swamped lol. But right now I’m procrastinating on studying, sooo… >_>

Yeah… My last entry didn’t auto-save at all and I spent a good hour and 37 minutes writing a review on eyeliners, but whatever ;__;

Once things start clearing up in my live I’ll try to blog everyday like I told myself =_=

But at least my boyfriend kept to his word lol <3

CS3 and a new mouse in exchange for an iPod case :D lol fair, right?

Uhhh

I know I haven’t written a post in a couple days and I really don’t know what to blog about ._.

I’ve adventured off with my boyfriend and friends the past couple days but I don’t really know how / want to reflect on them lol. And I don’t really have any pictures either >_<. Maybe my boyfriend will… probably not lol.

I bought this at work today~ So cute <3 It’s a hinamatsuri (Girl’s day) bento box.

I love making bento (if only I were pro and knew what to make half the time…) and I usually make it for 2 and share it for my boyfriend to eat for lunch.

Here’s some examples of bento I’ve made

Top left is spam and broccoli, Top right is dry potato salad (I don’t like mayonnaise), bottom is scrambled eggs (filler lol) spam hearts and onigiri triangles with nori (faces are made of nori too).

Top is triangle onigiri with Pokemon shaped nori sheets (pre-made), bottom left is frozen karage chicken I cooked the night before, and then the bottom right is lightly fried Japanese pumpkin (kabocha) and omelet with spinach filling.

Top left octopus shaped hotdogs with faces made of sesame seeds and cheese (I used a little mayonnaise to make it stay on), top right is boiled carrots and some spinach and omelet, and bottom is furikake onigiri.

Dreaming of living on my own…

It’s gotta happen one day lol. I’ve been stockpiling things over the years to prepare and I’m trying to think about how nice it would be to live by myself or with my boyfriend or a friend =_=. However, I’m also thinking on how UN-nice it would be living with them lol. I know how to cook and clean and what not, it’s just a matter of paying bills and getting lost to my own place I’d be worried about XD;. I probably wouldn’t make it on my own if I were booted out right now though. I’ll take this time now while I’m still in Junior College to try and sort things out before moving onto a University… Hopefully I can dorm first or find an on campus/close by apartment 8).

I’m just wishful thinking for right now… I’m just trying to plan things out now while I’m in the mood and motivated to. I want it to be all pink 8D ~!

Something like this LOL <3
I wish lol…

Disclaimer:

1) These aren’t my pictures so I don’t hold responsibility for them lol

2) I’m not all that ditzy and naive, I know it takes a lot of work to live and support oneself, and while living in pink & Hello Kitty would be ideal, it’s probably not all that practical :/ (why I’m hoarding stuff in my closet now for later lol!)
