PanKayKay? Yeah you know? Pancakes. PanKayKay? … Nevermind.
PanKayKayNubSauz used to be my old AIM screen name because I LOVE PANCAKES >_> And National Pancake week just ended, so this post is dedicated to the pancakes I made this week~.Usually I don’t eat pancakes that often; it’s usually only when I go to a diner where it’s almost a must to get breakfast for dinner.
When I make pancakes, I usually use a mix of some sort, my favorite is Morinaga brand pancake mix. You just add an egg and 3/4 milk or water and its the lightest, most fluffy pancake I’ve ever eaten 8) Even better than a restaurant or pancake house! When you cook it, you get a nice even brown carmel color over the pancake (or at least on one side lol) and it ACTUALLY looks like the picture! You don’t get those matchy bubbles from other mixes or from making it by scratch, but I do from time to time make it by scratch if I don’t want a lot of pancakes.
Here are the pictures of pancakes I’ve made:
Day 1: Plain pancakes with butter and maple syrup with bacon and orange juice. These were made from the Morinaga brand and as you can see from the top pancake, the even coloring. You get bubbles on one side unfortunately because when you pour the batter into the pan, you only get the even coloring on the side cooking from underneath :/ and the bubble-matchyness is a result from flipping it when bubbles appear.
Day 2: Pancakes with homemade whipped cream and berries and coffee<3. My boyfriend thinks the two raspberries and the big strawberry in the middle look like a big happy face T_T.
Day 3: Chocolate, chocolate chip pancakes with homemade whipped cream.Yummy
like the kind they have at IHOP.
Day 4: Pikachu pancake. This was inspired by a Mudkip pancake I made last year. I used chocolate chips for the ears, nose, and eyes and rasperries for the cheeks and mouth.
Day 5: Pumpkin pie pancake. Pumpkin pancakes drizzled with honey, homemade whipped cream and cinnamon. I made a pumpkin pancake and put spices that usually go in pumpkin pie (powdered ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, etc.) and it tasted exactly like a pumpkin pie! Just more fluffy and cakey 8).
Last but not least,Tiramisupancake. I made a pancake with a little bit more sugar and added vanilla extract. Then I layered it with a cream cheese filling I made from cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then dusted the top with cocoa powder and put a little dallop of whipped cream. The taste was good, but texture wasn’t like tiramisu XD; Also the flavor was a little different since I didn’t have mascarpone and used cream cheese :/.
That concludes my pancake week~ I have some idea for more pancakes too… Maybe I’ll continue making some 8)
